At the Cross-Border Dialogue we bring 100 people from the 3 regions together to work on shared challenges across the regions. We want to connect people and foster collaboration. Be one of them! Apply now for a scholarship – we will cover the costs of your ticket and accommodation! Participants only need to pay a total of 60€ for the entire event.
Application Period:
30th January - 28th February.
The application selection process begins with Cross Border Dialogue team members reviewing and rating each application based on set criteria. Scores are then totaled and categorized by gender and age groups. In a face-to-face meeting, the team allocates participants within these groups to ensure a diverse range of perspectives and expertise is represented.

The Cross-Border Dialogue (CBD) is an initiative that brings together Austria, Czechia, and Slovakia to tackle shared challenge, explore opportunities for stronger collaboration and strengthen European values. Hosted by Club Alpbach Lower Austria and Club Alpbach Czechia & Slovakia, this event is all about exchanging ideas and finding innovative solutions to real-world issues affecting the region.
The heart of the CBD is a hands-on design-thinking hackathon, where students, young professionals, local entrepreneurs, and community representatives team up to solve challenges provided by real-world partners. By working together across borders and disciplines, participants aim to create solutions that leave a lasting impact.
This event is part of the prestigious “Dialog.Format” series and aligns with the European Forum Alpbach’s mission of fostering cooperation, cultural exchange, and meaningful action.

Hackathon
In this event, you'll collaborate in teams of eight to tackle real-world challenges across three countries. Your mission? Brainstorm creative solutions, design impactful initiatives, propose forward-thinking policies that drive long-term positive change in these regions.The hackathon revolves around four tracks:
Shared Nature: Exploring sustainable ways to protect and cherish our environment.
Better Cooperation: Building stronger connections and partnerships.
Interregional Exchange: Encouraging cultural and knowledge sharing across borders.
Shared Security: Innovating for safer, more resilient communities.
About us
The cross-border dialog is a conferece organised by Club Alpbach Lower Austria and Club Alpbach Czechia & Slovakia.
The European Forum Alpbach is a yearly European conference on topics such as security, democracy, climate & economy in Europe. The Forum Alpbach Network consists of several regional clubs like the club alpbach Lower Austria and the club alpbach Czechia & Slovakia. Those are collaborating to make this regional cross-border dialogue happen.
