CDDP
Counter-Disinformation work is fragmented/hard to track. CDDP brings key insights into one place - enabling shared awareness, better coordination, and more effective action across sectors and borders.
The problem
The field of disinformation, FIMI, and misinformation is rapidly evolving and constantly changing, making it difficult to maintain a clear overview of the most important reports, briefings, articles, and related outputs. As a result, individuals and organizations often duplicate efforts due to a lack of visibility into who is working on what.
The solution
The solution is to build on an existing but limited approach: governments already exchange insights quickly through the Rapid Alert System, yet access is restricted to public authorities. Inspired by this model, we are developing a redesigned, open version called CDDP (Centralized Disinfo Data Platform), which aggregates the most relevant reports and insights from across the field and enables fast, accessible discussion among civil society, governments, and other contributing actors.
Who it's for
It is designed for the rapidly expanding and evolving community of civil society, academics, and practitioners working on disinformation and FIMI. This matters because it forms the foundation for any meaningful strategy or operational response: without consistent situational awareness, it is not possible to design effective measures or interventions.
What we built & tested
To realize this, we have build the the MVP for the Centralized Disinfo Data Platform (CDDP). The system is based on a Laravel (PHP) backend, using Blade for frontend templating and a relational database (MySQL) for data storage. Through this, the platform ensures structured server-side logic, secure form processing, and efficient data management.
This architecture enables simple and efficient data sharing, streamlined interaction and sign-up processes, and robust user management—helping ensure that contributions and discussions remain high-quality and relevant.
Next step
The next steps after the Cross Border Dialog involve securing funding to further develop the project through our association in Austria (Disinfo Awareness) and to establish it as a leading source for up-to-date information sharing and discussion in the field. To achieve this, we will leverage our existing network of foundations, government agencies, and other partners in Austria.
